Frequently Asked Questions
At Resound Wellness, many people are curious about what to expect before their first laughter yoga or sound healing session. Here are some of the most common questions, answered to help you feel comfortable and prepared.
-
Laughter yoga is a unique practice that combines gentle movement, breathing exercises, and intentional laughter. It may sound unusual at first, but the body doesn’t distinguish between real and “playful” laughter — the benefits are the same. Laughter yoga can reduce stress, boost mood, strengthen social connections, and leave you feeling lighter and more energised.
-
Sound healing uses vibrations from instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, chimes, and tuning forks to help the body and mind find balance. These vibrations can calm the nervous system, ease physical tension, and support deep relaxation. Many people describe sound healing as a soothing, meditative experience that leaves them feeling refreshed and centred.
-
Not at all! Both laughter yoga and sound healing are accessible to everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or background. You don’t need to know how to meditate, sing, or “be funny” — just bring an open mind and a willingness to take part.
-
We’ll begin with simple breathing and movement exercises before moving into playful laughter practices. The session often ends with a short relaxation period to help you absorb the positive effects. Expect to feel uplifted, connected, and more relaxed afterwards.
-
You’ll simply lie down or sit comfortably while being surrounded by the sounds and vibrations of various instruments. There’s nothing you need to “do” other than relax and allow the sound to wash over you. Many people find it deeply restorative.
-
Comfortable clothing is recommended so you can relax fully. For sound baths, you may want to bring a yoga mat, blanket, and cushion for extra comfort. Water and an open heart are always welcome!
-
Most laughter yoga or sound healing sessions last between 45–75 minutes, depending on the format. Workshops or combined sessions may be longer.
